Mrs. Virginia Keil of DuBois, IL, departed this life at the Washington County Hospital Extended Care in Nashville on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 9:36 PM.  She had attained the age of 84 years, 3 months and 21 days.

Virginia was born on October 30, 1935 in Centralia, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Lottie (Nowak) Mozelewski.  She was united in marriage to Theodore J. “Ted” Keil, Jr. on April 15, 1955 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Posen, IL and he preceded her in death on July 1, 2006.

Virginia was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church in DuBois, IL.  She was a homemaker and also worked at Hoben Candy Company in Ashley, Hollywood Brands in Ashley, Decca Records in Pinckneyville, County Set in DuQuoin, Essex Manufacturing Company in DuQuoin, and the United States Postal Service in DuBois.  In Virginia’s early years, she enjoyed the outdoors, yard work, gardening, hunting and fishing.  Due to health limitations she later became an avid journaler and recorder of family and community events and timelines.

Left to mourn her passing is her sister-in-law, Mary Jane Mozelewski of Posen, IL; brother-in-law, Henry “Pete” Keil of Alma Center, WI; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers, Albert and wife Josephine Mozelewski and Edwin Mozelewski and two sisters-in-law, Jean Dycus and Connie Kuberski.

In accordance with Mrs. Keil’s wishes, cremation rites were accorded and a private memorial service will be held at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville, IL at a later date.  Mrs. Keil’s remains will be Interred in the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery in Posen, IL.

Should friends desire, mass offerings or memorials can be made and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home, who is assisting the family with arrangements.
