Cecelia A. Hass
Cecelia A. Hass, 91, of Du Bois, went home to be with the Lord at 10:43 A.M., Sunday, March 1, 2020 at the Du Quoin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Cecelia had lead a very full and diversified life. She left home at 15 and went to work at a Chicago Defense Plant. Another time, she was working as a maid and served drinks to Stan Musial. She had worked along side of her husband, Ralph, on the farm. Cecelia also worked at the Pinckneyville Dress Factory and Hollywood Candy Factory in Ashley. She loved dancing, reading, gardening and canning fruits and vegetables. She also loved listening to Charlie Pride and other country singers.
She was born October 31, 1928 at St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Walter C. and Clara (Marshalek) Prusacki.
She married William H. Wheeler in 1949 and they later divorced. She then married Ralph J. Hass on September 28, 1955 at Todds Mill, IL and he preceded her in death on June 7, 1997.
She is survived by one daughter – Joyce Bauza of Tamaroa, two grandsons – Paul Bauza of Millstadt, IL and Aaron Bauza of Belleville, IL, great grandchildren, a great great grandson, and special companion – Dennis Duncan of Du Bois.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother – Eugene Prusacki, one sister – Tillie Radake and two nephews – Joseph Prusacki and Kenneth Prusacki.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 A.M., Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the St. Charles Catholic Church in Du Bois with Fr. Oliver Nwachukwu officiating.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 P.M., Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.
Burial will be in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery at Tamaroa.
Friends may make memorials to the St. Charles Catholic Church or the St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
