Nashville, Ashley Libraries To Close Amid Growing Health Concerns

Local libraries announced their closings this week as part of the shrinking number of accessible public places.

The Nashville Public Library posted on Facebook that it would be closed until March 31 and the decision was based on the developing situation on the coronavirus.

The Ashley Public Library is closed until further notice.

“We feel it is in our patrons’ and staff’s best interest to close the Library and help promote social distancing,” both libraries said.

Both libraries said fines incurred during this period will be waived. They also said that patrons can still check out ebooks through CloudLibrary by bibliotheca, which can be downloaded to the smartphone or tablet.
