Seventh Case In Washington County Now Reporting
A new case is now being reported in Washington County, the seventh total and fifth this week, according to the Washington County Health Department.
The health department said Sunday morning that a new positive COVID-19 case, a male in his 80s, was reported to the office. The man is being isolated and has no known exposure to a lab-confirmed positive COVID patient, “meaning the it was acquired by contact with an individual who had” not known that he or she was carrying the virus. WCHD Administrator Elizabeth Lehde said in the release that the department has identified, contacted and given quarantine orders to those who have been close to the individual.
Other cases this week have included a male in his 30s, a female in her 70s, another male health worker in his 40s, and a female healthcare worker in her 20s.
The Washington County Hospital longterm care unit reported a resident had tested positive. All employees and residents are now going to undergo testing, the hospital said Sunday.
