Breaking: Person Of Interest Identified In Woodrome Murder
A Missouri man in custody has been identified as a person of interest in the homicide of an Ashley man killed this past February.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office announced on Tuesday morning that a 31-year-old male is being held without bond in the Scott County Jail on unrelated charges. A multi-state, multi-agency investigation has been conducted and “gathered information to connect this person of incident at David G. Woodrome’s residence on February 9, 2020.”
This man, whose name has not been released yet, was arrested on charges of assault in the first degree and armed criminal action in Reynolds County, MO, on April 8.
Sheriff Len Campbell said the sheriff’s office is working with Missouri and other law enforcement agencies as this homicide investigation continues. Campbell also said that the identity of the person will not be released if or when he is named a suspect.
Woodrome, 71, was found dead at his home after a friend went to visit his house once it was discovered that he had not been seen at the local business he frequents for more than three days. He was pronounced dead on scene by the Washington County Coroner’s office.
