Shawn Emmert

Shawn Emmert, 50, of Centralia passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at Salem Township Hospital. He was born on February 17, 1970 the son of Carl and Debra (Patterson) Emmert in Zanesville, OH.

Survivors include his mother, Debra Woolever of Centralia; children, Courtney Emmert of Salem, and Rachelle Emmert of Centralia; cherished grandchildren, Lynzi Hawk, Zaelynn Emmert, Khaos Emmert, Leyton Emmert, Kymbree Frost, and Camdyn Potter; kind siblings, Kevin Woolever (Carrie) of Ashley, and Katelyn Woolever of Centralia; several special nieces and nephews; and longtime best friend, Jeff Hammond.

Shawn was preceded in death by his father, Carl “Bill” Emmert; and his sister Kimberley Emmert.

Shawn worked as a laborer. Known to be a homebody, Shawn always welcomed, and enjoyed hanging out with family and friends. He had a passion for tattoos, and this love earned him the nickname “Papoo”.

Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia is assisting the family with arrangements. A celebration of life service to share memories will be held by the family at a later date. Memorials may be made in Shawn’s honor to Irvin Macz Funeral Home and may be mailed to 234 S Elm St Centralia, IL 62801.
