IDPH: Spectators Must Wear Masks At Fall Sport Competitions
Those looking to watch sports this fall will need to have a mask or other face covering on hand, according to officials.
Craig Anderson, executive director of the IHSA, reportedly told schools on Tuesday, August 11, that all spectators will be required to wear face coverings at baseball, softball and cross-country contests.
In the SIJHSAA Return to Play guidelines sent to parents that spectator and group gatherings are subject to IDPH guidelines.
The rules state that spectators must wear face coverings at all times, and except in incidents while eating or drinking but “strict adherence to social distancing must be maintained during those activities.”
