Carol Ann Willis, 86, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 7:00 am August 30, 2020 at her residence in Mount Vernon, Illinois. She was born March 20, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Clarence and Veronica (Spotanski) Waldman. Carol married Jack B. Willis on January 15, 1955 in St. Pius the 5th in St. Louis.

In addition to her loving husband of sixty-five years, Carol is survived by her children, Bill (Sherry) Willis of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Brenda (David) Jennings of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Bob (Vicky) Willis of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Tom (Gena) Willis of Edwardsville, Illinois, Tracy (Rick) Horton of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Toby (Karen) Willis of Mount Vernon, Illinois; grandchildren, Katie (Nick) Schrementi, Julianne (Ross) Rubenacker, Kaelin (Adam) Pierce, Blake (Liz) Jennings, Jesse (Beth) Maynor, Ryan Maynor, Brody (Lizzie) Willis, Lindsay (Kort) Willis, Josh (Kaity) Sledge, Jenni (Cam) Camarena, Jake Sledge, Jackson Horton, Robert (Amber) Willis, Colten Willis; great-grandchildren, Giuliana, Violet, Nolan, Wade, Ty, Sawyer, Rhianna, Bella, Bryor, Emma, Kole, Penelope, Lillian, Gideon, Grady, Geno, Loki, Rocco, Jax, Kolby, Mylze, Fisher, Cami; siblings, Madalyn (Enoch) Morris, Charlotte (Jerry) Dalman, Wally (Carole) Waldman; brother-in-law, Joe Willis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Betty Hequembourg and brother-in-law, Chuck Willis.

Mrs. Willis devoted her life to raising six children and loved cooking huge meals for her family every Sunday. Carol was a member of Saint Mary Immaculate Conception Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and she will be missed dearly.

A Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2020 from 9:00 am to 10:50 am at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at 11:00 am at Saint Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Father Joel Seipp officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Carol’s honor to Saint Mary Immaculate Conception Church.

Please remember to observe social distancing at this time. We are limited to 50 people in our building at a time. Following the CDC and NFDA regulations, we encourage everyone to wear a mask in our facility. They will be made available, upon request. During the Mass we are limited to 100 people in the building and masks are required per the Catholic Diocese.
