Rev. Charles Ervin Pietsch, Jr. 80, of Coulterville, passed away at 9:56 A.M., Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at his residence.
Charles had been a welder for the Burning Star #4 Coal Mine. He was a United States Army veteran, serving from 1959 until 1962. He was a member of UMWA.
He was born February 15, 1940 at Vernon, TX, the son of Ervin Carl and Olivia Margaret (Graf) Pietsch.
He married Nancy Sue Eater on November 19, 1966 at Anaheim, CA and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Coulterville, three children – Charleen Pietsch of Sparta, IL, Cheryl Padgett and husband Scott of Dallas, TX, and Charles Andrew Pietsch and wife Debra of Eldorado, IL, one sister – Virginia Pietsch of Visalia, CA, one brother – Clinton Pietsch and wife Faye of Grants Pass, OR, grandchildren Carlie Michelle (Dane) Kasten, Nashville, IL, Melinda Sue (Bobby) Pietsch – Palombo, Baton Rouge, LA, Brent Michael Roussel, Baton Rouge, LA, Nicholas Andrew Roussel, New Orleans, LA, Jonathan Webb Roussel, Baton Rouge, LA, Joshua David Roussel, Northlake, TX, and Maci Rae Pietsch, Eldorado, IL, and great grandchildren Skyleigh Bradley Pietsch, Baton Rouge, LA, Evelyn Mae Kasten, Nashville, IL, Lydia Ann Palombo, Baton Rouge, LA, and Louis Christopher Kasten, Nashville, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandchildren – Christopher Bradley Roussel and Isaac Daniel Roussel.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 5, 2020 at the Oakdale Cemetery at Oakdale, IL with Minister Ron Mazander officiating.
Friends may call from 10 A.M. until the time of service on Saturday at the cemetery.
Phase Four Restore allows 50 attendees, using social distancing guidelines. Everyone in attendance is required to wear a mask.
Military graveside rites will be conducted.
Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery at Oakdale, IL.
Friends may make memorials to Feed The Children, Oakdale Cemetery, or the American Heart Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
