Leonard Janowski
Leonard Michael Janowski, 88, of Scheller, IL, passed away at 8:03 P.M., Monday, September 28, 2020 at the home of his daughter in Ballwin, MO.
Leonard had been a machinist for Drake Corp. for forty years. He had also been a farmer. Leonard was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church in Du Bois. He was a United States Navy veteran. Leonard was a member of the Du Bois Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed playing bingo and eating out. Leonard enjoyed his family and grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening, fishing and camping.
He was born May 12, 1932 at Washington County, IL, the son of John and Anna (Kemnitz) Janowski.
He married Bernice Helen Borowiak on December 1, 1956 at the St. Charles Catholic Church in Du Bois and she preceded him in death on April 1, 2019.
He is survived one daughter – Cheryl Bogucki and husband Gene of Ballwin, MO, one son – Randall Janowski and wife Cynthia of Venedy, IL, one brother-in-law – Larry Drobick of Chicago, four grandchildren – Shelli Saucier and husband Kyle, Brian Bogucki and wife Alicja, Daniel Janowski and wife Danielle, and Tiffany Lehman and husband Chris, eight great grandchildren – Elizabeth Lehman, Abigail Lehman, Paul Janowski, Mason Saucier, Annabella Saucier, Thomas Janowski, Jack Saucier and Claire Bogucki.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother – Stanley Janowski and two sisters – Agnes Polheber and Regina Smith.
Memorial Mass will be at 11:30 A.M., Friday, November 6, 2020 at the St. Charles Catholic Church in Du Bois with Fr. Oliver Nwachukwu officiating.
Friends may call from 10:30 A.M. until the time of service on Friday at the church.
Please use social distancing guidelines. Everyone in attendance is required to wear a mask.
Burial will be in the St. Charles Cemetery at Du Bois.
Friends may make memorials to the St. Charles Cemetery or the St. Charles Catholic Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
