Dorothy Marie Suchomski

 

Dorothy Marie Suchomski, 89, of Pinckneyville, passed away at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 29, 2020 at the SIH Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.

Dorothy had been a registered nurse and had worked at Friendship Manor in Nashville, IL and Pinckneyville Community Hospital. She was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church at Todds Mill. Dorothy was a member of Catholic Daughters for over fifty years. She was also a member of the Perry County Home Extension and had been a 4-H Leader. She was born April 2, 1931 at Scheller, IL, the daughter of Herman Jacob and Helena Frances (Gajewski) Wagner. She married David Clarence Suchomski on August 29, 1952 at Scheller, IL and he preceded her in death on August 13, 2001.

She is survived by eight children – Marilyn Haberl and husband Scott of Pensacola, FL, Shirley Ann Kissell and husband John of Olathe, KS, Helen Marie Starkweather of San Antonio, TX, Catherine Jean Suchomski of Todds Mill, Wayne Suchomski and wife Sandy of Todds Mill, Leo Suchomski of Ashley, Edward Suchomski of Todds Mill, and Lucile Elizabeth Suchomski of La Bella, FL, one sister – Elizabeth Wynn of Du Quoin, two brothers – Charles Wagner and wife Wanda of Evansville, IN and Walter Wagner and wife Janice of Scheller, ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter – Pauline Frances Suchomski, and one brother – James Wagner.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at the St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery at Todds Mill with Fr. Augustine Ibezimako officiating. Please use social distancing guidelines. Everyone in attendance is required to wear a mask. Burial will be in the St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery at Todds Mill.

Friends may make memorials to Oblate Missionaries and will be accepted at the funeral home. Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa is in charge of arrangements.
