Mrs. Valrie Jean Moore of Nashville, IL, formerly of Ashley, IL, departed this life at Friendship Manor Healthcare Center in Nashville, IL on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at 5:57 PM.  She had attained the age of 79 years, 7 months and 12 days.

Mrs. Moore was born on March 22, 1941 in Coon Island, MO the daughter of Charles E. and Emaline (Edwards) Whitehead.  She was united in marriage to John O. Moore on July 3, 1959 in Poplar Bluff, MO and he preceded her in death on December 16, 2001.

Valrie was a homemaker and a member of the New Heart Fellowship Church in Beaucoup, IL.  She enjoyed gospel music and was active in her church choir.   She liked to be on the go and would visit all her friends in the nursing homes.  Valrie also enjoyed crocheting and dearly loved her family. 

Left to mourn her passing is her two daughters, Terri Coutas and husband Jim and Tammy Meadows all of Ashley, IL; son-in-law, John Lance of Ashley, IL; four grandchildren, Melanie Coultas, Derek Coultas, Tamilyn Fortag and Kari Lance; five great-grandchildren, Macee Hoover, Mason Wisniewski, Brylee Coultas and Kaylee and Bobbie Matlock; two great great-grandchildren, Jasper and Emerald Matlock; sister, Peggy Soechtig and husband Larry of Granite City, IL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, husband, sister, Patsy Kidd; stepmother, Melba Hunt and a granddaughter, Karla Moore.

Funeral services will be held at the Campagna Funeral Home in Ashley, IL on Monday, November 9, 2020 at 11 AM with Pastor Micky Kleiboeker officiating.  Interment will follow in the Brick Cemetery in Ashley, IL.

Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home in Ashley on Monday from 9 AM until the service hour.

Should friends desire, memorials can be made to the Brick Cemetery and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
