Glenn Malawy

Glenn Malawy

I, Glenn Malawy, 56, of Nashville, IL while not being able to fulfill my lifelong ambition of saying I died after a lengthy battle with a polar bear, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 1:38 AM.

I made my deput on November 23, 1963 (several hours before Dr Who) the youngest son of Harry and Rose (Smugala) Malawy.  I agreed to “til death do you part” with Lisa Reinkensmeier on July 20, 1985.  It always amazed me that that took so long.  She survives my passing in Nashville, IL.

I was a bullshitter extraordinare and a prankster.  I always enjoyed a good laugh.  I and a friend once captured a giant chicken while armed with nothing more than a garden hose and a can of Stag beer. (The emu promptly beat the crap out of me).  I was a good friend to those that needed one and a giant pain in the ass to those who made me be that way.

With my ball and chain, we have four children, Stacey (Jorge) Valdivia, Steven (Kristi) Malawy, Amanda Malawy all of Nashville, IL and Dr. Ashley Malawy of Red Oak, IL.  Of that begetting, four grandchildren were begot, Jacob and Kylie Valdivia and Garret and Mason Malawy.  Thank you to my brother, Trapper, for staying with me to the end.

Per my wishes, cremation was performed and my life celebration will be held on a bright brisk fall day.  Check my facebook page for information.

Eulogy will be followed by 2 hours for rebuttal and finished off with a weenie roast since the main weenie will have been roasted.  Polish Brandy will be served.

In lieu of flowers, I ask all to do an act of kindness towards a stranger.

Though I know Glenn only through Stacey, after reading this I feel like I missed out by not crossing paths with him. Stacey, it’s easy to see why you love him so much! Best obituary I ever read! Condolences to Glenn’s entire family. It is clear he will be greatly missed.
