Mr. Billy Wayne Reynolds of Dubois, IL, departed this life at SSM Good Samaritan in Mt. Vernon, IL on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at 11:10 PM. He had attained the age of 79 years, 8 months and 4 days.
Mr. Reynolds was born on March 29, 1941 in Bradford, TN, the son of Frank and Mabel Reynolds. He was united in marriage to Melba Pelczynski on January 1, 1966 in Ashley, IL and she survives his passing.
Bill was in the United States Air Force and was involved at the Christmas Island Operation Dominic. He worked as the signal man on the railroad with the IC Railroad and Alton Southern for 38 years until his retirement. Bill and Melba moved to DuBois, IL in 2000. Bill loved gardening, cooking, canning, hunting, fishing and feeding the birds and his dogs, Bocephus, Reggie and Darrel.
Left to mourn his passing is his wife Melba Reynolds of DuBois, IL, two brothers, Gary (Nancy) Reynolds and Donald (Joyce) Reynolds, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Betz (Mark) Nowakowski, John (Jane) Pelczynski and Jim (Sara) Pelczynski, nieces and nephews, Chelsey (Randy) Ratajczyk and their children, Aliza, Amelia and baby Ratajczyk; Becca (Austin) Harrison; Cheyenne (Richard) Baugh; John (Lisa) Pelczynski and family; Deb (Nathan) Holle and their children, Donovan, Devin and Janie Holle; Terry Pelczynski and his children Terry Jr. and Tailer Pelczynski; Jamie, Jessica and Shelley Pelczynski and their families; Kathy and Carrie Lynn Reynolds; Elizabeth and Monique Reynolds; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Frank Reynolds and niece, Traci Pelczynski.
Per the wishes of Billy and his family, cremation was performed and a memorial service will be held later in the spring.
In memory of Bill, plant a tree this spring or send something to the Intensive Care Unit Covid Nurses at SSM Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, IL for their excellent care and dedication.
