Gavin Baldwin will be continuing his baseball career in college as he has signed a letter of intent to play for John A. Logan when he graduates from NCHS. Baldwin, son of Brock and Andrea Baldwin, has been playing baseball for 12 years and has been a starter at NCHS all four years. He has received the Nashville Offensive Award the last two years as well as the Jody Gajewski Hustle Award. He has played in summer leagues and was ranked in the top 500 players in the nation this year and last.
“It’s going to be exciting, there’s a lot of good competition.” Baldwin said about joining the Vols.
“I anticipate he will have a successful college career.” NCHS head baseball coach Chad Malawy said, “He has standout tools with his power at the plate and his arm in the field.”
Coach Malawy went on to express that this was a special signing for himself, personally, because he has coached Baldwin every year since he began playing for travel leagues. “We’re super proud of Gavin,” Coach Malawy said, “He represents the baseball program well with the way he develops as a player.”
