Marie Wyciskalla
Marie Wyciskalla, 84, of Scheller, Illinois passed away at 7:00 pm January 5, 2021 in Sesser, Illinois. She was born January 2, 1937 in Scheller, Illinois to the late Albert and Clara (Mydler) Gajewski. Marie married Henry C. “Hank” Wyciskalla on April 18, 1953 in Mount Vernon, Illinois. They were blessed with nearly fifty-four years of marriage before he preceded her in death on July 30, 2007.
Marie is survived by her children, Linda Roberts of Sesser, Illinois and special friend, Bob Furlow of Christopher, Illinois, Mary Lou Bowlin and husband, Ken of Sesser, Illinois, Tom Wyciskalla and Fran of Scheller, Illinois; grandchildren, Jamie Myers, Amanda Behnke, Ethan Bowlin, Loni, Clayton, Corena, and Wade Wyciskalla; great-grandchildren, Ian and Zoe Gonzalez, Lily and Travis Bowlin, Greyson and Paisley Edwards, and Kaiden Wyciskalla; brother, Dan Gajewski and special friend, Donna McCoffery of Michigan; half sisters, Vicki Ray and husband, Joe of Idaho, Donna Brouch of Aurora, Illinois; brother-in-law, George Wyciskalla and wife, Rita of Scheller, Illinois; sister-in-law, Shirley Wyciskalla of Iowa; and several nieces, nephews, friends, and good neighbors.
In addition to her parents and husband, Marie was preceded in death by her son, Gene Wyciskalla; sons-in-law, Jim Myers, Tom Roberts; sister, Alberta Newborn; and brothers-in-law, Bob Newborn and Rich Wyciskalla.
She was a homemaker, liked vegetable and flower gardening, and fishing. Marie was a member of Jefferson County HCE for sixty years, Herb Club, and St. Barbara’s Sodality.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made in Marie’s honor to St. Barbara’s Cemetery in care of Linda Roberts and can be sent to P.O.
