Covid-19 Numbers Continue to Improve

In a press release issued today, Washington County Health Department has confirmed 13 new cases of Covid-19 in the County as of 1/26-1/27. 

This brings Washington County’s total case count up to 1,517, with 42 of these cases currently active. One person is currently hospitalized with Covid-19.

The county has reported no new deaths, and the Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting a 7-day rolling average positivity testing rate of 7.5 for the entirety of Region 4.

In order to move into Tier 1 Mitigations, Region 4 must:

-Have a test positivity rate between 6.5% and 8% for three consecutive days (Currently on track at 7.5%)

-Have ICU bed availability of at least 20% for three consecutive days (Not on track, have not had any consecutive days according to IDPH’s website dated 1/24)

-Have no sustained increase in COVID hospitalizations. (Currently on track – seeing decreases)

The Washington County Health Department encourages, “It seems that our numbers are headed in the right direction. Continue to practice safety precautions so that we can continue to improve and overcome these unprecedented times.”
