Jane L. Pelczynski

Jane Louise Pelczynski, 75 of Ashley, passed away at 2:24 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Washington County Hospital in Nashville with her family by her side.  She was born on July 23, 1945 in East St. Louis, the daughter of John and Mary Druse Bartholomy.  She married John T. “Pepper” Pelczynski on August 22, 1964 in East St. Louis and he survives.  Also left to mourn her passing are 2 sons; John (Lisa) Pelczynski and Terry Pelczynski both of Nashville. A daughter Debra J. (Nathan) Holle of Hoyleton.  9 grandchildren; Nicole (Ben) Borrenpohl, Britany (Sam) Fishburn, Roxzen (Brock) Styninger, Tommy (BreeAnna) Pelczynski, Donavon (Kelley) Holle, Devin (Easton Hoepker) Holle, Janie (Doc Schaeffer) Holle, Terry Pelczynski, Jr. and Tailer Pelczynski.  12 great grandchildren; Afton and T.J. Borrenpohl, Stryker, Staks and Shyer Fishburn, Brody, Brynlee, Bristol, Tommy IV, Tynslee and Jaelynn Pelczynski and Jayden Patton.  A sister Mary Ellen Bartholomy of Anna.  Brother in law James (Sarah) Pelczynski of Oakdale.  2 sister in laws; Melba Reynolds and Betz (Mark) Nowakowski both of DuBois.  Preceding her in death were her parents, a daughter in law Traci Pelczynski, sister Florence (Lodge) Stephan and brother in law Bill Reynolds.

Jane retired in 2019 from the Washington County Vocational Workshop.  Prior to that, she operated the Sip and Dip Ice Cream shop in Richview and later Ashley.  She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Radom.  She enjoyed going on bus trips with her friends, playing bingo, her dogs Clifford and Lilly and especially her grand kids.

A private funeral service will be held Monday, February 1, 2021 at Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville with Father Andy Knopik officiating.  Burial will follow in the Ashley Cemetery.  Friends may call from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home with the rosary recited at 6:00.  Friends may also call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday.
