ACT Science Prep Sessions: NCHS teachers will be hosting prep sessions for the upcoming ACT. Students may sign up in the office.
Kaskaskia College Jumpstart Program: The Jump Start Program is for freshman, sophomore, or junior students that attend a high school in the Kaskaskia College District. Registering through Jump Start allows students to take one class each semester at half the tuition cost each year they are in high school. If students are interested in enrolling in a summer class at KC, they should contact the guidance office for a Jumpstart form.
Kaskaskia College Career and Technical Education Open House: Seniors who are interested in the following careers: Automotive Technology, HVAC, Welding, Carpentry Occupations, Industrial Technology, Robotics, and Truck Driver Training should plan to attend the KC open house on April 15th from 5:30-7:30pm at the Crisp Center in Centralia. St. Louis University Info Sessions: SLU is hosting virtual information session for JUNIORS on the admission presentation and will have a student panel to learn more about what it’s like to be a Billiken. These sessions will be held: Sunday, April 18th at 2:00pm, and Thursday, May 6th at 6:00pm. To register, see SLU’s webpage.
Scholarships: As we receive information on scholarships, they will posted on the Counseling Office webpage at: https://sites.google.com/a/nashville-k12.org/scholarships/ Some upcoming scholarships are:
INDEPENDENT PROFESSIONAL SEED ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP – The deadline has been extended to April 30, 2021. Applicants must be majoring in an agriculture related degree. Preference is given to Agronomy and Science related fields (Agronomy, crop, soil, engineering), and business fields (Agriculture business, communications, economics marketing). The IPSA scholarship program does not prioritize animal science or pre vet majors. Visit https://ipseed.org/scholarships for the application.
KASKASKIA COLLEGE STUDENT AMBASSADOR SCHOLARSHIP – Applicants must have at least a 2.5 GPA. Applications are due May 1, 2021. More information about the scholarship programs is posted on the Guidance Office page of the NCHS website.
INSURING RURAL COMMUNITIES SCHOLARSHIP – Offered by The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis. This renewable scholarship is a need based for individuals pursuing a course of study in information technology, healthcare, or risk management. ACT Testing Dates: The next ACT test with open registration is June 12. Registration is due by May 7. Another upcoming test date is July 17. Registration is typically due 5 weeks before the testing date. Students may register at www.ACTStudent.org. Our high school code is 143-110.
SAT Testing Dates: The next SAT test with open registration is May 8. Late registration is due by April 27. Additional SAT testing dates for the year are May 8 and June 5. Registration is typically due 5 weeks before the testing date. Students may register at www.collegeboard.org. Our high school code is 143-110.
