Last Friday a pair of truck drivers tried to unload gas from a trailer off Interstate 57 near Buckley, Illinois. They opened the trailer once they noticed the fuel was not flowing properly to discover a man’s corpse, fully intact.
The Iroquois County Sherriff’s Office responded to the scene and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit arrived shortly after to assist.
State police determined the identity of the man to be 29 year old, Garrett Meyer of Nashville, Illinois.
An autopsy was performed the following day at the Champaign County Coroner’s Office. As of publication time, there was no result of the toxicology report.
No cause of death has been determined, so the Iroquois Sherriff’s Office and State Police will continue their investigation.
