In non-conference football action Friday night Nashville completely dominated Wesclin for a 42-8 win. The Hornets did all of their damage in an impressive first half. The opening drive only took three plays and ended with a touchdown run by Connor Gladson. In the last few minutes of the first quarter Nashville scored on a nine yard pass from Kolten Gajewski to Isaac Turner and a 44 yard run by Ian Blazier. Second quarter scoring plays included a six yard run by Gladson, a 23 yard run by Ben Reid and a 42 yard run by Gladson. Eduardo Garibay was six for six on extra-point attempts, making the score 42-0 at halftime..
In the first half Gajewski completed eight of nine passed for 85 yards. Top receivers were Turner with three catches for 45 yards and Reid with two catches for 34 yards. Gladson was the top runner with 9 carries for 83 yards, Blazier had three carries for 76 yards and Gajewski kept the ball four times and gained 69 yards.
Many substitutes and younger players saw significant playing time in the second half as most of the starters were taken out of the game. Nashville did not score again and held the Warriors to only one touchdown and a two-point conversion in the third quarter. From start to finish Nashville played a solid defensive game which gave Wesclin few scoring opportunities.
Nashville now has a record of 2-1. They start conference play on Friday night when they host Anna-Jonesboro.
