A man and a woman are dead after a train accident in Richview early Wednesday morning.
Washington County Coroner Mark Styninger said his office was dispatched to Richview at 12:38 a.m. for a report of two subjects who had been struck by an Amtrak train.
Styninger had earlier asked the public’s help for identifying the man and woman, both of whom did not have any identification nor identifiable tattoos. The woman was reported to be in her late teens or twenties and had long brown hair. The man was believed to be in his thirties and had dark hair.
A positive identification for both subjects was later made on Wednesday afternoon.
“I would like to thank everyone who shared the post and shared your concern,” Styninger said. “More information will be released later as it becomes available. Please keep the families of these individuals in your thoughts and prayers.”
The names of the victims were released Thursday morning. Curtis D. Braswell of Marble Hill, MO, and Della M. Blewett, 21, of Mt. Vernon were both pronounced dead at the scene by Styninger at 1:08 a.m. and 1:06 a.m.
