Mary L. Crites, 81, of Springfield, died at 4:40 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2022, in Sherman, IL.
Mary was born January 23, 1941, in Pyletown, MO, the daughter of Floyd and Dorlus Snider Moore. She married Roger Crites on January 21, 1960, in Dexter, MO; he preceded her in death in 1988.
Mary graduated from Bernie High School in Bernie, MO. She was employed with Grace United Methodist Church in Nashville, IL for many years. Once she moved to Springfield, Mary worked for Judy’s Hallmark from 1996 until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, her dog Bean, and her friends and family. Mary also enjoyed reading and watching television, especially Judge Judy and David Muir.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jack and Wendell Moore.
Mary is survived by her sons, Roger “Al” (Lisa A.) Crites of Sherman and Mark Crites of Springfield; grandchildren, Nicholas (Katheryn) Martin of Sherman, Zachary Crites of Springfield, Lauren Crites of Streator, Mark Nathan Crites of Springfield, Valeria Crites of Sherman, and Eric Crites of Springfield; great-granddaughter, Agatha Martin; brother, Larry Moore of Bernie, MO; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cremation was provided by Lincoln Land Cremation Society.
Private family ceremonies will be held with burial in Dexter, MO.
