Vaughn’s Classic Cars opened on State Route 127 to a crowd and car show of many.

Vaughn Vallet said in an interview, “we had an excellent turnout, way way surpassed my expectations.” Reporters estimated the crowd was around 100 people at noon.

“We’ve got about 20, I think about 25 cars in there for sale on our own, our own cars. It looks like there may be a good 50-60 show cars here.”

The car show included a 1957 Bel Air Convertible, 1966 Shelby Cobra and a 1930 Ford Model A, while Vaughn’s included a 1953 Chevrolet Stepside, 1955 Ford Convertible and a 1967 Camaro RS/SS among others.

When asked how long it took to get this going he said, “I’d say I’ve been thinking about opening a classical car place about 5 years ago, you know, and it just kinda, the last year really got serious about it and decided to do something, had the opportunity to buy this property.”

After being asked if he planned on making an annual car show he said, “if people want to come we’ll do it again.”

He said what he loves most about classic cars, “the variety, there’s so many different types of classic cars and different colors and just, you know, you can go into custom where over you change things and the people. The people that are associated with ’em are pretty great.”

Vaughn said he wanted to thank everyone that came out to see them.

Vaughn’s Classic Cars will be open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
