Billy J. Gundlach

Mr. Billy J. Gundlach of Richview, IL, departed this life at his residence surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at 6:05 A.M.  He had attained the age of 66 years.

Mr. Gundlach was born on June 17, 1956, in Litchfield, IL, the son of George Joseph and Leona Gundlach.  He was united in marriage to Lynda (Haltenhoff) Gundlach on May 26, 1979, in Sandoval, IL and she survives his passing.

Billy worked many years in the manufacturing industry.  He enjoyed going on the hunt for everyday treasurers and he loved fishing and hunting.  Billy was a loving father, grandfather and friend to all.

Left to mourn his passing is his wife, Lynda Gundlach of Richview, IL; his 3 children, Chrystal (Michael) Cameron of Radom, Cherie (Martin Kretzer) Gundlach of Richview and Billy Gundlach, Jr. of Dix; 5 grandchildren, Gia and Sadie Donahoo, Kourtney (fiancé Kaleb Williams) Barbee, Riley Barbee and Memphis Gundlach; a great-granddaughter expected in February 2023; sister, Connie Myers of Centralia; 2 brothers-in-law, George (Heather) Haltenhoff of Ashley and JB “James” (Brenda) Haltenhoff of Waltonville; his K9 companions, Claire and Charlee Grace; nieces, nephews, other relation and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Richard Mark Gundlach; 2 sisters, Vickie Gundlach and Georgia Ann Gundlach; in-laws, Robert and Ina Haltenhoff; 2 brothers-in-law, Donn Myers and Robert Haltenhoff, Jr. and grandson, Jakob Barbee.

Per the wishes of Billy and his family, cremation will be performed and a Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at the Ashley Community Building in Ashley, IL on Friday, December 23, 2022, starting at 1 P.M.  Interment of Ashes will be held at a later date.

Should friends desire, memorials can be made to the Richview Cemetery, American Kidney Foundation or the American Diabetes Association and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home, who is assisting the family with arrangements.
