Nashville High School senior Quintin Loquasto will be playing football at an NCAA Division III school in Decatur next year.

Loquasto signed to play college football at Millikin University on Friday, March 10. He said he fell in love with the program and coaches.

“They were one of the first teams to come and recruit me and check me out. They showed a lot of interest and really enjoy me as a person. I really love that about them,” he said.

Loquasto will be an offensive player for the Big Blue in the wide receiver position. He said he is leaning towards majoring in business at Millikin.

“I’ll always love playing defense and getting to hit somebody. Offense is my favorite side of the ball,” he said.

Loquasto said when he was younger that basketball was his favorite sport and he loved basketball, but as he got older in high school, he realized football was the sport for him.

Loquasto said that a highlight of his football career at Nashville High School was a 37-35 win over St. Teresa in the Class 2A semifinals in the 2021 season.

“Playing in the St. Teresa game my junior year was pretty incredible. I’ve had a family that is not blood these past four years and I couldn’t be more grateful for it,” he said.

Loquasto said having grown up in a small town, getting used to being around a lot more people will be an adjustment next year.

“College seems to be a lot different, but I’m ready for it,” he said.

Loquasto said he is focusing on football this spring and getting ready for next year.

“They’re sending me a workout to do and I’m going to do that,” he said.
