The Nashville Middle School girls volleyball team is headed to the Southern Illinois Junior High School Athletic Association Class M state tournament for the second straight year. The team will play in its state quarterfinal match on March 25 at 11 a.m. at Nashville High School against Trico.

The second-seeded Junior Hornettes defeated top-seed Breese District 12 in two sets, 25-17, 27-25 in the Class M Region 7 championship on Thursday, March 16 to advance to state. Earlier that evening, Nashville faced off against third-seeded Carlyle in the regional semifinals and won in two sets, 25-11, 25-20.

“I just wanted to say how proud I am of this team. They played their hearts out against a great Breese team to win the regional for a second year in a row. I have no doubt these girls will come with their A game to play at state,” said head coach Adria Schneider.
