KENNETH STORCK SR.
Mr. Kenneth Storck Sr. of Addieville, IL departed this life in the emergency room of St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, IL surrounded by his family on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at 8:16 P.M. after a sudden illness. He had attained the age of 75 years, 7 months, and 18 days.
Kenneth was born in Belleville, IL on August 8, 1947 the son of Edwin and Leona (nee Wernecke) Storck. He was baptized in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Okawville on August 24, 1947 and confirmed at Immanuel on April 15, 1962. Kenneth was united in marriage to Sharon Scanlan in Nashville, IL on August 2, 1969, and she survives is passing.
Mr. Storck was drafted into the Army in 1968 during the Vietnam War. He served in Germany as a motor pool truck driver with the 8th Cavalry Regiment. In civilian life, Kenneth was a truck driver for Beelman Trucking and later for Quickway Carriers until his retirement in 2016. In his retirement years, he continued driving a truck, hauling grain for Rodney Schilling. Kenneth was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Okawville and was currently serving the church as an Elder. He was an avid birdwatcher and especially loved watching Purple Martins as they were feeding. He also enjoyed fishing, attending tractor pulls, and watching The Price is Right. He especially loved spending time with his family.
Left to mourn his passing is his wife, Sharon Storck of Addieville; four children, LaDonna Smith and husband Tim of Xenia, IL, Cassandra Schnitker and husband Tim of Hoyleton, IL, Kenneth Storck Jr. and wife Ashley of Okawville, IL and Christopher Michael Storck and wife Crystal of Addieville; a brother, Kermit Storck and wife Jenny of Keyesport, IL; 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; his faithful companion Buddy; as well as a host of friends.
In addition to is parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Keith in infancy, and a sister, Lucille Penland.
Funeral services will be held from the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Okawville on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 11 A.M. with Pastor Eric Wood officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Military graveside rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 233 of Okawville.
Friends may call at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Okawville on Thursday from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. and again on Friday from 9 A.M. until the service hour.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or the Immanuel Lutheran School and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home
