MARY J. SOBCZAK

Mary J. Sobczak of Tamaroa, IL, departed this life at Friendship Manor Healthcare Center in Nashville, IL on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at 10:45 PM.  She had attained the age of 101 years and 29 days.

Mary was born on July 30, 1922, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of John and Bernice (nee Kopek) Golinski.  She was united in marriage to her husband of 67 years, Mark Sobczak, on May 14, 1941, in Brattleboro, VT and he preceded her in death on October 22, 2008.

Mary was a homemaker and a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church in DuBois, IL.  She enjoyed traveling and playing bingo.

Left to mourn her passing are her 4 daughters, Trudy Snedeker of North Ridgeville, OH, Janet Witges of Maryville, IL, Helen (Mike) Waloszyk of Cedar Edge, CO and Irene Winston of Tamaroa, IL; 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 2 sons-in-law, Terry Snedeker and Tony Winston.

Per the wishes of Mary and her family, cremation will be performed and there will not be any public services.

Should friends desire, memorials can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home, who is assisting the family with arrangements.
